About me
Clare is Head of Education and Community Outreach at the Francis Crick Institute, a biomedical research institute in central London, with a strategic focus on engaging and inspiring the general public. She leads a team working with schools, charities, the council and a range of other organizations across Camden, to deliver programmes that engage local people with science and the institute. Clare believes that beyond engagement, places like the Crick need to offer genuine opportunity to widen participation, and this includes her persuading the Crick that it should get involved in T-levels, and now Degree apprenticeships, as an alternative way for underrepresented young people to get into research science via this vocational pathway.
