Jacqui Gitau is the Co‑Founder and Director of African Families in the UK (AFiUK) and the lead for AFiUK Oxfordshire, where she champions community‑driven programmes that empower African heritage and migrant families. She is the co‑lead of My Place My Science, the partnership project between Univerisity of Oxford Community Learing engageent leads and scientists with AFiUK CIC. The project promotes whole‑family STEM learning that respects cultural identity and highlights the often‑overlooked scientific contributions of African heritage communities.
Jacqui is the author of "Parenting Between Cultures", a cross‑cultural parenting workbook that supports migrant families navigating life between cultures. She has been awarded an MBE for her services to migrant families in Oxfordshire. Her work is rooted in cultural integrity, inclusion, and the belief that families thrive when their strengths and stories are recognised."
